March 8th is International Women's Day, the annual celebration of women's achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also Day 1 of the first annual Divinale: Women of Wine Week, a festival celebrating the women of the wine industry.

 

The Divinale program includes a series of winemaker-led tastings, a working women's dinner, a benefit lunch, and a Charity Grand Tasting featuring small-group seminars and over 50 wines from women winemakers or winery owners.

Partial proceeds from all Divinale events will be donated to Global Fund for Women, a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 to promote the economic security, health, safety, education and leadership of women and girls worldwide.

All events are to be held at City Winery on the corner of Varick and Vandam Streets in Soho. City Winery is a unique combination of urban winery, wine bar, restaurant, music venue and event space.
